BLOGGING TO MARKETING FAME
by Stu Leventhal
A blog is the modern way to converse with the masses. But everyone does not have success instantly as soon as they launch their blog.
There are a lot of other bloggers who want your audience to visit them and ignore you! The competition is fierce because of the enormous amount of blogs in the blogosphere. Blogs are free to launch, anyone can start one. But the trick is making people aware of your blog.
You can be an Artistic blogger, SEO blogger, Video Blogger, Creative Writing Blogger, Photo Blogger or any combo of the above. Just know that each of these skills can take a life time to master. You want to post only great stuff and you may be great at one or two things but not many are great at everything.
The reason you are blogging could be to promote your products or company, or your blog could be for self-promotion. How are you going to create quality posts if they take a few days to put together each post? You know you have to post every day or two to feed your audience or they will move on.
Thus, the key to great blogging is speed of post creation. Do not get me wrong; the posts have to be worthy of keeping an audience’s attention too! But you need to become a blog posting machine, churning out quality posts about your special topic daily to get noticed in cyber space!
The reason most blogs fail is because the bloggers are trying to post such fantastic stuff that it takes them a couple of days to perfect their blog posts. They may be great posts but posts that take days to create are meant to be published somewhere else!
You start great discussions on your blog and fertilize blog conversations. Your great content gets published on your website and your blog should point to the webpage, reference it, send fans to check it out, promotes it and link to it!
You can take your time with creating your website content because you are not expected to publish something new every day or two like on your blog. Your blog posts are not finished work; they are works in progresses that your blog audience is expected to help you build larger and take further on the journey. Your fans contribute to blog posts!
If you want your audience to engage you need to leave them openings to say something. Do not say it all!
Blogs fail because bloggers confuse blog content with web content and social media content. We want to experience something different on websites and expect something different entirely on social sites; know the differences! Blog post the right appropriate content for a blog!
You must be able to command your blog audience’s attention for months, even years. But you are not expected to be a great video maker, super artist, supreme writer, comedian, genius debater, philosopher, psychiatrist…ALL IN ONE! You are supposed to be an expert on your blog topic. You are expected to open up and bleed for your audience like all artists! And when you blog, you are expected to have something to say. BLOG WITH PURPOSE!
Blog post for a reason! Post great photos that relate to your topic. Link to breaking news on your topic! Send your audience to great videos then discuss them! Write funny! Write a poem! Be the go to place for your industry, genre, niche…
The more you post and publish, the more social media sharing of your content that your fans can do. This means more links sending new visitors and traffic to your blog and better search engine rankings. Thus concentrate on posting often and you will grow your fan base fast. But again, your posts must be relevant and discussion worthy!
Deep down people have always loved interesting stuff and they are proud when they find something unique that is shareable. Post things you feel are worthwhile to share with your own personal friends and family members and others all over the world will also see the same value in sharing it with their friends and family.
Blogging really is that simple! Blog success relies on viewing your blog as one continuous conversation that different people come and go from but that you are the sole moderator. Your blog is you throwing a 24/7 cyber-party with a revolving door.
Your guests can come and go, they can visit alone or bring guests but you are always the host or hostess who is there to welcome new visitors, show them around, introduce them to the regulars of the group and help them feel comfortable! You supply the refreshments, the entertainment and the atmosphere but the party goers create the real party!
A Great Blog is a Cyber Club House…a very special place for like-minded people, the globe over to get together, hangout, experience what they love and have fun!
MAKE A GREAT BLOG BUT DO NOT TRY TO DISGUISE YOUR BLOG AS A WEBSITE!
